Andrew Seaman retired in March 2019 after 45 years working as the Estate Gamekeeper.
Andrew’s interest is in all things in the countryside, he has that uncanny knack of working with nature and the weather. Andrew always produced really top-class shooting days for Michael Trafford and his friends. Many of those friends attended and contributed to parting gifts at a celebration lunch at the Estate Boathouse.
He leaves a legacy of recognition on the home beat which he keepered for around twenty-five years. Moving from the Frettenham beat, which was Michael Trafford’s private shoot when he lived at Common Farm. Here, he for many years hatched his own birds from eggs collected on the Estate.
Andrew has a unique knowledge of the flora and fauna of this part of Norfolk and he has recorded 127 different bird species on the Estate and also a record of the many different specimens of trees at Wroxham.
He continues to live on the Estate and now assists his son Robert who has taken over the role. We hope he will continue to keep a watching brief on the Estate.
